When do you need a birth certificate translation?

A translated birth certificate is most commonly required for:

• Enrolling a child in a UK school
• Applying for British citizenship or a passport

Most UK institutions accept a certified translation — they do not require a Polish sworn translation (tłumaczenie przysięgłe).

Please note: if this translation is for a Polish court, ZUS, or government office, they may require a sworn translation (tłumaczenie przysięgłe) from a translator registered with the Polish Ministry of Justice.
